Short essay on an Indian village

Introduction

India is an agricultural country. So, it is a country of villages. An Indian village is a collection of earth and mud-houses with agricultural fields spreading near about. The villagers are poor, their financial condition is not good. They have no money for pucca buildings that's why they bound to live in houses of mud with straw-roofs overhead. An India village is typically marked with a temple and a pathasala.
But the paths are dark and dirty, especially in the rainy season. An Indian village is blessed with a lot of trees and creepers, it is full of natural scenery. There are many trees found but the common are groves of mango and clumps of bamboo. Besides, this tall palm trees, collection of date-palm, and cocoanut make the village beautiful.

We also find the groves of jackfruit and pineapple. The people of the village celebrate a lot of festivals throughout the year. The main celebrations are Durga Puja, Diwali and Holi, Parties from outside are invited to perform the Pala (an Indian community devotion) and Jatra.

Cornfields

An Indian village is surrounded by cornfields, close to it. The village farmers work in their field round the year and raise their crops. They grow foodgrains, oil-seeds, fruits, vegetables, jute, and cotton. Every house is attached to a kitchen-garden where they grow greens and gourds for their personal use.
The villagers grow food for themselves as well for the country and fodder for their domestic animals. They eat fresh and healthy food. They grow good grass for their animals and also manage to leave sufficient land for pasture.

Crafts

Indians are very fond of crafts. In India, the village-industries are generally handicrafts. The government supports these industries. Indian village has weavers who are master in weaving, potters who make the beautiful pots, goldsmiths, blacksmiths, carpenters, braziers, and basket-makers. All these artesian create a healthy ecosystem.

Water-supply

An Indian village suffers from a scarcity of water. The main source of water is the pond, well, and river. The village ponds and well are shallow. Hence, they dry away in the month of summer. In other seasons the villagers make the water dirty. That's how water crises arise in the village.

People

People of an Indian village are fit, energetic and healthy. They are also the person of a good kind. The work hard in the sun and shower. Still, they are poor.
People of an Indian village are good farmers and artisans. They grow food crops, commercial crips and oil-seeds.
Nowadays they are taking up an improved method of farming. They do all kinds of home-industry including pots making, basket making, spinning, and weaving. They can't afford good clothes for their children so, they move naked and play in the mud. Their animals are, generally, cattle and goats.
They took good care of these animals. The villagers amuse in a plain manner. They observe village festivals and enjoy the open-pandal dramas. They easily suffer from timely epidemics like cholera and small-pox as they are ignorant and illiterate about the sanitary.

Conclusion

After all, life in an Indian village is no doubt very good, for the beautiful natural sceneries all round and the plain character of living. It's purity and simplicity mesmerize everyone. Still, an Indian village needs to be uplifted in the light of modern civilization with the help of science and technology.
It is our main duty that we should lift every village of India to a much higher level. The idea of an ideal village will certainly help us in discharging our duty.
